Balintawak is an Arnis Art [ Arnis is also known as Kali or Eskrima/Escrima ]
The first Balintawak Club was established in the in the Philippines in the1930s by the late Great Grand Master "Anciong" Bacon. The Balintawak system emphasizes both in-tight and long-range fighting and utilizes the single-stick, empty-hand and knife applications for practicality.
Balintawak is taught at Falkirk Martial Arts Academy by John Sharp, Instructor for Central Scotland. John has been training since 2001 under Richard Cotterill, the Founder and Chief Instructor for the International Balintawak Combat System Group. Over the years, John has also had the opportunity of attending seminars all over the UK and Europe with Richard and has also had the pleasure of teaching a group seminar in Stockholm, Sweden in February 2018.
Seniors:
The Balintawak class is on a Monday from 8 till 9pm.
We also have Senior Ju Jitsu classes, Sunday 6 till 7.30pm and Tuesday to Thursday 8 till 9.30pm.
Students can attend 1 night or all nights to suit their preference.
